What AI features do
When available and explicitly requested, cloud enhancement can create chapter notes, character context, chapter images, and book atmospheres. Imagine and Reimagine create images; Explain provides reading context. Features and limits can vary during beta. Plain EPUB reading does not require AI processing or a subscription.
What processing involves
Importing a book starts background synchronization of its EPUB and extracted reading structure to Lorely’s private storage when online. AI generation is a separate choice. Individual generation tasks use relevant excerpts, chapter context, and existing private enhancements. Image tasks can also use an imported cover or an existing generated image as a reference. This is distinct from reading an EPUB locally.
Generated content is stored as a separate layer for your own book. Uploaded text and private enhancements are not published as shared book pages or distributed to other readers. See the Privacy Policy and provider inventory.
Training and provider review
Lorely’s policy prohibits using uploaded book content to train foundation models. Verification of each enabled provider’s contractual terms, retention, and account settings is still pending. We do not claim that every provider has verified zero retention or approved no-training terms.
Accuracy and spoilers
AI can invent details, misidentify characters, create visually incorrect or inappropriate images, reflect bias, or reveal spoilers. Lorely limits context and checks reading progress to reduce these risks, but cannot guarantee perfect results. The original book remains the source of truth. Do not rely on generated explanations for professional advice.
Feedback and control
Use Report a Problem in the app or contact support for incorrect, unsafe, or spoiler-containing results. Your description and optional diagnostic submission are separate from app analytics. Avoid including private passages or prompts in a report. Optional analytics never includes book text, selections, prompts, completions, or generated content.
You can continue reading without generating new enhancements. Book deletion and cloud-data controls are described in the Privacy Policy.
